ATTN (11/22/17): I am currently accepting submissions for new projects or new clients for mastering engineering work for December 2017 and onward. I am not currently taking submissions for any other audio work outside of the mastering realm.

Greetings, my name is Zach and I am an audio engineer and musician currently residing north of Boston, Massachusetts. I have been working professionally as a a freelance mastering engineer for the past six years, touching upon albums of any and all genres (anywhere from modern radio-pop to grindcore), and have been in the audio engineering field well over ten years with recording and mastering credits on over one-hundred releases.

There is no project too small nor too large for me to take on and I aim to offer my services at affordable prices for my clients. I am always looking to work with new, wonderful clientele and help any artist accomplish and fully realize the exact vision they have for their recorded material. In the mastering stage, a lot can be achieved beyond shaping the final sound of the audio recording in question. Thus I strive to produce a master recording which not only 100% meets the desired results and expectations of the client, but also serves as a perfect representation of the project to their exact specifications.

My mastering services include (but are not limited to):

  • Standard digital mastering
  • Digital pre-mastering optimized for vinyl record pressing
  • Stem mastering
  • DDP CD mastering
  • "Mastered for iTunes" file formatting
  • Restoration and re-mastering for audio recordings of various sources
...among various other solutions.

Though my assumed forte is usually in the field of mastering, my skill-set as an engineer is very versatile and I also enjoy engineering, mixing, and producing larger-scale recordings when given the opportunity and have availability to do so. Feel free to shoot me an email about your record and we can discuss the creative process, options, and anything else you are looking to accomplish. Aside from studio work, I currently tour with Epitaph Records recording artist The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die as their front-of-house live sound engineer among other related responsibilities.

I have a more detailed account of my engineering history written here if you wish to know more about me and my background.

As of 2017, I also play and write music with Boston-based band Animal Flag. I also work for audio electronics company Electronic Audio Experiments building guitar pedals. I also enjoy repairing and servicing guitar amplifiers (and other audio electronics) in my free time.

I don't have set-in-stone flat or hourly rates because I believe in deciding upon a price-point which is fair to both the client and myself. Likewise, every project has a different set of requirements and I don't think a flat rate is appropriate in that context. Contact me through this form with details about your record, budget, and what you're trying to do and we can figure out pricing based upon what you are trying to accomplish with the project as a whole.
